Hyderabad: Three men are absconding after they gang raped a woman on Monday night in Madhuranagar area of the city, in a building where she worked, reports said.
She was targeted by the men when she stood at the bus stop to go to hit-tech city and the accused men were reportedly watching her for a few days and on spotting her at the bus stop, asked her to come to their home to wash clothes and promised that she would get paid for the work.
On reaching their home, the three men sexually assaulted her and as she screamed for help, a woman who lived nearby listened to her screams and came to her rescue. The men fled the place as they heard footsteps of the woman.
Madhuranagar police said that a case of wrongful confinement, attempt to murder, with charges of gang rape have been registered against the accused, who were natives of Gorakhpur, UP and lived in Hyderabad.
Currently, the accused are absconding and search operations have been intensified for them.
The police also said that the victim has been shifted to a Bharosa center and her statement is being recorded.
