Hyderabad: Six people have been arrested by Banjara Hills Police on Friday after a woman died recently from consuming Momos at a stall in Banjara Hills area of the city.
The woman, 33, identified as Reshma Begum bought the momos on October 24 at a roadside food stall in Nandi nagar, Banjara Hills.
After consuming the momos, Reshma and her daughters became severely ill with vomiting and diarrhoea. She died on the way to the hospital and NIMS doctors declared her dead on arrival. Her daughters and at least 50 others, who had consumed the same food were hospitalised.
Who were arrested?
The six people arrested in the case include those connected to the momo stall business and all of them were from Chinthal Basti in Khairatabad. The names of the arrested are Sajid Hussain, Almas, Md. Raees, Md. Haneef, Md. Sharukh, Md Rajik, all of whom are between the ages of 19-29.
All six of them have been sent to judicial remand. Earlier, the police believed that the Mayonnaise and chilli chutney served along with momos may have been contaminated.
