Hyderabad: The Balapur Police on Monday raided a house in Alinagar which held a ‘mujra party’ and booked a case against the organisers of the party.
The party reportedly featured transgender people performing ‘obscene’ dances at the residence of a businessman named Mohammed Amir and was attended by 70 guests, who were watching the performances during the raid.
The party was held at Amir’s eldest son’s engagement and was held with a digital sound system, causing disturbance to many locals.
FIR registered against organizer:
The Balapur police reached the spot at around 1.40 am after a tip-off from several concerned locals. The performers fled through the rear exit upon seeing the police but the police managed to seize the sound system.
The 52-year-old Amir, who was the organizer of the event was taken into custody for questioning. A case was registered under various sections of the IPC including section 296, 270, 292 for public nuisance, negligent act, obscene acts and songs.
