New Delhi: A humanitarian gesture by Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday has left a deep impression on many. Shinde not just pulled over and stopped his convoy to make way for an injured biker, but also got out of his car to assist the locals in transporting the injured person to the hospital.
The video of the incident has gone viral. It shows two men carrying the injured individual. Shinde then signals his convoy to clear the way for them.
Surrounded by many security personnel, Shinde stepped out of his vehicle to help the injured biker and ensured he received timely medical help. The man was then seen being helped into a car, apparently to be taken to a hospital.

Shinde took part in the celebrations of the 76th Republic Day on Sunday. Earlier, he attended an event in Saket Police Ground in Thane. In a post on X, Shinde wrote, “As the country celebrates its 76th #RepublicDay our state and Thane district are also progressing rapidly. Many changes are taking place in the district and road, railway and metro networks are being built. Our Thane district is at the forefront in all sectors like agriculture, industry, services, and employment.”
Later in the day, Shinde joined Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to unveil the North Channel Bridge which links the Mumbai Coastal Road Project and the Worli-Bandra Sea Bridge.
Several dignitaries were also present at the event, including Ashish Shelar, the Guardian Minister of Mumbai Suburban, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the Joint Guardian Minister, Bhushan Gagrani, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Ashwini Bhide, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and senior officials from the Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
Recently, Shinde announced a Rs 5 lakh aid to former cricketer Vinod Kambli, who had been admitted to the ICU of a private hospital in Thane after his health deteriorated.
