New Delhi: Huawei has introduced the GT5 smartwatch in India with prices starting at Rs 18,999, with additional discounts of about Rs 4,500 available through bank offers and coupons during the pre-booking period. The GT5 smartwatch has a decidedly luxurious design, and features an emotional well-being assistant as well as AI powered tracking for sports and fitness activities. The GT5 is available in two variants, a 46 mm case for men offered in blue, brown and black, as well as a 41 mm case for women available in white, brown, blue, gold and black. The smartwatch supports calling over BlueTooth.
The watch features prism straps, and are designed to work as both dress and casual watches. Both the watches feature displays of 466×466 resolutions, with the larger version for men having a 352 PPOI, while the female edition having a 321 PPI. Huawei is packing in 10,000 dials out of the box, with 11 dynamic watch faces that can also be used to track the emotional states of users. The GT5 smartwatch is water resistant for up to 50 metres. The smartwatch is equipped with GNSS tracking with offline maps available. There are over 100 workout modes, with the watch providing a comprehensive fitness tracking experience. There is also integrated sleep tracking supported in the watch.
A worthy successor to the GT4
The GT5 can be picked up from Flipkart and has a 12 month warranty period. The predecessor, the Huawei GT4 sold over one million units within 30 days of the launch, with the GT5 being the successor to a highly successful model. The Huawei GT4 was launched in India last year, and was available and was actually priced for Rs 1,000 higher, at RS 19,999. While the previous version was octagonal in shape, both the versions for this year’s model are circular, which had also featured 25,000 dials out of the box.
