While the city had witnessed continuous rains and floods since the beginning of July, it has been sunny and warm for the past few days. Even on Saturday, Delhi basked under the sun. The Meteorological Department has informed that the sun and heat are expected to persist for two more days without any relief. The temperature in Delhi has also risen significantly, and there is currently no possibility of rain.
Scorching Heat in Delhi: Residents Suffer on 22nd July
Rainfall is anticipated in Delhi after 25th July, according to information from the Meteorological Department. Media reports indicate that the temperature in Delhi has not exceeded 38.5 degrees Celsius in July. However, on Friday, it reached 39.4 degrees Celsius. The lack of rainfall in recent days has led to a surge in the temperature. There is no forecast of rain in the capital for the next four days.
Sunny Days Amid Continuous Rains and Floods: Delhi’s Weather Update
In contrast, Mumbai and its surrounding areas continue to experience heavy rains. On 22nd July, Mumbai witnessed another bout of heavy rainfall, resulting in water-logging and traffic jams. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain. Due to this, schools in Thane have declared a holiday. An orange alert has also been issued for Thane.
Meanwhile, Haryana’s Hathinikund barrage has seen an increase in water levels due to the ongoing rains in Punjab and Haryana. Within 24 hours, the water flow rate at Hathnikund barrage in Yamunanagar district rose from 87,177 cusecs at 8:00 am to 2,40,832 cusecs at 12:00 noon on Saturday, as reported.
