Haridwar: On the auspicious occasion of Holi, a special “Holi Festival Yajna and Flower Holi”* was organized at the sports ground of Patanjali University in the esteemed presence of the University Chancellor Swami Ramdev Ji and Vice-Chancellor Acharya Balkrishna Ji. On this occasion, both the sages extended heartfelt wishes to all countrymen for Vasant Navsasyeshti (spring harvest festival).
During the Holi celebration, Swami Ramdev remarked that Holi is not just a festival of colors and joy but also a symbol of social harmony, love, brotherhood, and the triumph of good over evil. He urged everyone to take a pledge during Holi to keep away from self-reproach, forgetfulness of the self, and self-delusion.
Swami Ramdev also encouraged people to remain steadfast in truth, walk the eternal path, the Vedic path, the path of the sages, and the path of righteousness, constantly climbing new heights and achieving greater spiritual ascension.
Swami Ji further emphasized that every festival in Sanatan culture is celebrated alongside Yoga and Yagya, as these are the vital and spiritual elements of our culture. He appealed to all countrymen to not let this harmony be ruined by intoxication from *bhang* or alcohol, as it is detrimental to society.
On this occasion, Acharya Balkrishna Ji stated that Holi is a festival of renouncing ego — a time to burn the Hiranyakashyap (symbol of evil) within ourselves in the Holika fire. He encouraged everyone to set aside personal differences and immerse themselves in the spirit of brotherhood, making this sacred festival truly meaningful. Acharya Ji also urged people to celebrate Holi with complete purity, avoiding the use of chemicals, mud, or synthetic colors, and instead, play Holi with flowers and herbal gulal.
