New Delhi: After Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav stated that ‘alliance doors are always open for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday pointed out that the “dreams” of RJD chief will always remain “dreams”.
After conclusion of a Cabinet meeting in Mumbai, Fadnavis said: “The dreams of Lalu Yadav will always remain dreams (Mungeri Lal ke Haseen Sapne hi rahenge). They will never be fulfilled.”
This followed a statement by Lalu Prasad Yadav, who said that the doors of the opposition alliance are always open for the Bihar Chief Minister.
In a related development, Union Minister and JDU leader Lallan Singh underlined that his party is with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Speaking to reporters, Singh said, “We are with the NDA and with full conviction. I cannot react to what people say–there is freedom of expression; people can say whatever they want.”
However, in a reaction to Lalu’s remarks, his son Tejashwi Yadav said, “You keep asking him this; what else would he say? He said this just to calm down all of you.”
Remarks made out of fear: Samrat Chaudhary
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary reacted, saying that RJD supremo is making such comments out of “fear”. “Nitish Kumar knows Lalu Prasad Yadav inside out… Lalu Prasad Yadav is just afraid,” Chaudhary said.
Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan pointed out, “If followers of Gandhi detach themselves from the followers of Godse, then we are with them.”
On Thursday, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar gave a cryptic response to RJD president Lalu Prasad’s offer to come back in the INDIA bloc fold. When asked about the offer, Kumar quipped, “Kya bol rahe hain?” (“What are you saying?”). Earlier, Lalu Yadav sparked a political debate in Bihar. In response to a question about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joining the grand alliance, Lalu Yadav said, “If he wants to come, I will take him along.”
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Tejashwi Yadav vowed to end unemployment and migration from Bihar in 2025. Talking about his vision for 2025, Yadav said, “In the new year, we have resolved that this time we will end unemployment and migration from Bihar. We will form a new government in the new year.”
