Kanpur: Truck drivers are considered the backbone of a country’s economy. To bring a change in their lives, a special campaign called ‘Highway Heroes’ is being run by TV9 Network and Shriram Finance. The campaign has now reached Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Sessions are being organized through the campaign focusing on strengthening the mental, physical health, financial awareness and technical skills of truck drivers.
Kanpur DCP Traffic, Ravindra Kumar, has praised the initiative of TV9 Network and Shriram Finance. He not only met the truck drivers, but also encouraged them to follow traffic rules, understand them and pay attention to their health. He said that truck drivers play a big role in running the country’s economy. And thus, their well being needed for the country’s health.
UP Motor Transport Association Kanpur President Ajay Kapoor was also present during the campaign held in the city. He also described TV9 Network and Shriram Finance’s Highway Heroes Campaign as a great step for truck drivers. The 2-day event from April 14 to April 15. Thousands of truck drivers are participating in this campaign. Special training and health sessions have been organized for them during the campaign to improve their work and life.
Highlights of the campaign
Technical skill training : Drivers are being trained in new technology and safe driving. The certificate obtained after the training is considered equivalent to 12th pass. This also makes it easier to renew the driving license.
Yoga Session : Continuous driving causes mental fatigue to drivers. Therefore, the trainers of the Yoga Institute are teaching them easy yoga, which will help in reducing stress.
Health Checkup : Piramal Health team is doing free health checkup in which information is being given about diseases like sugar, BP, eye test and TB.
Financial training : With the help of NSE, truck drivers are being told how to save and invest money properly even with low income. They are also being given information about avoiding cyber crime.
