Bengaluru: Bengaluru experienced a significant downpour on Monday morning, resulting in flooded roads and water seeping into the basements of numerous apartment buildings. Following a day of severe rainfall that brought the city to a standstill on Sunday, meanwhile, the downpour continued, leading to widespread disruption across the region.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘orange alert’ for Bengaluru, warning of further heavy rain and thunderstorms, including lightning, in the coming hours. The weather agency has cautioned residents to remain vigilant and prepared for potential disruptions.

Furthermore, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall expected across Karnataka and other coastal regions of India due to a cyclonic storm developing in the Bay of Bengal. The IMD explained that an upper air cyclonic circulation, which originated over the central Andaman Sea, has moved to the North Andaman Sea. This shift increases the likelihood of significant rainfall in the affected coastal areas. Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions as the weather conditions may intensify in the coming days.
