New Delhi: Moderate to heavy rains are predicted in parts of north India today that have witnessed a spell of abundant rainfall over the past two days. Besides, heavy rainfall is predicted in parts of Gujarat, Konkan and Goa region, and in coastal Andhra Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said.
The Delhi-NCR region was lashed by rains on Thursday evening that brought down the mercury following days of sunny weather. The national capital recorded its maximum temperature of 33.6 degrees Celsius and minimum at 23.3 degrees Celsius. For Friday, the weatherman has predicted a generally cloudy sky with moderate rainfall in the city and its adjoining areas.

North India
Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan. Isolated to scattered rainfall is also likely over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and west Rajasthan during the week.
Very heavy rainfall is anticipated in isolated parts of Uttarakhand. East Rajasthan may experience very heavy rainfall till September 7. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is likely in Himachal Pradesh till September 7. West Rajasthan may receive heavy rainfall, and eastern Rajasthan over the next three days.
West and Central India
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is very likely over West India and Chhattisgarh. Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is also expected over Central India during the week.
Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, the Konkan region and Goa from today. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Chhattisgarh during the next seven days. Central Maharashtra may receive heavy rainfall till September 10, while Konkan and Goa are likely to receive heavy rains from September 6 to 10.
The Saurashtra and Kutch regions may see heavy rainfall today while Gujarat predicted to receive it from the 6th to the 8th. Madhya Pradesh may experience isolated heavy rainfall from the 6th to the 8th, and East Madhya Pradesh on the 6th. Vidarbha is expected to see heavy rainfall from the 8th to the 11th of September.
South India
Fairly widespread to light or moderate rainfall has been predicted with a high likelihood over parts of Kerala, Mahe, the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Puducherry during the week. Over the same period, scattered to moderate rains are forecast over the Lakshadweep Islands, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on September 6. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Kerala and Mahe from September 8 to 11, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam till September 8, and Telangana from the 6th to the 8th. Coastal Karnataka may also experience isolated heavy rainfall from the September 6-9.
East, Northeast India
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Northeast India, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is also likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand in the coming days.
Isolated very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Arunachal Pradesh on the 6th, in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on the 11th, in Assam and Meghalaya on Saturday and in Odisha over the next two days.
Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next seven days. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may experience heavy rainfall on Friday.
Bihar is expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall for the two next days, while Jharkhand may see heavy rains from Friday to Sunday. Odisha is also likely to see heavy rainfall from till Sunday, and Arunachal Pradesh till September 11.
