Patna: Grieving and demanding justice for their 34-year-old son who died by suicide in Bengaluru allegedly due to harassment and legal threats by his estranged wife and in-laws, Atul Subhash’s mother broke into tears while speaking to reporters, narrating that even though her son was “tortured”, he hid it from his family not to let them bear the pain he did.
Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old techie based in Bengaluru, tragically took his own life on December 9th, leaving behind a heartbreaking 1.5-hour-long video and a 24-page note narrating years of alleged harassment from his estranged wife and her family and a judge-based in Uttar Pradesh due to multiple cases filed against him and continuous pressure on him to pay more money to his estranged wife in alimony and child support, amounting up to Rs 2 crore.
As his grieving parents spoke to the media outside the Patna airport, their words were filled with sorrow and anger. When asked if they believed their son’s death was a murder, the father poignantly stated, “Torturing someone is the same as killing.”
Such was the distress and sorrow of losing her son, Subhash’s parents spoke while crying inconsolably and moments later, his mother fainted.
