New Delhi: Nowadays, people are using digital payments more than cash payments. With the rise in digital payment systems, people are now frequently and very commonly using a unified payment interface (UPI) service to make their transactions. Even while making everyday payments like paying a cab or paying for food or fuel bills, people are resorting to digital payments to make the transaction.
Thanks to the online banking system which has become vogue nowadays, one can avail of digital payments round the clock for each day of the week. But even machines need to rest and there could be days or a few hours when the the UPI service won’t be available to common people. It mainly happens when there is an essential system maintenance in the bank.
The UPI service of HDFC Bank
Recently, the HDFC Bank announced that customers won’t be able to avail of it for two days in November. It will be so as the bank will undergo essential system maintenance. The two days when the UPI service of UPI will not be available are November 5 and 23. On November 5, the UPI system of the largest private bank will be closed between 12 am to 2 am. On November 23, the UPI service will remain closed from 12 am to 3 am.
At those times, the system maintenance will go on and the services which will remain unavailable are as follows:
1. On HDFC Bank Current and Savings account and RuPay Credit Card, financial and non-financial UPI transactions will be unavailable.
2. For all bank account holders using the HDFC Bank UPI handle, financial and non-financial UPI transactions on the Gpay, HDFC MobileBanking app, Paytm, WhatsApp Pay, Mobikwik, Shriram Finance and Kredit.Pe will be unavailable.
Increased UPI limits
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) last year increased the limit of UPI transactions. The transaction limit of UPI 123Pay increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. On the other hand, the transaction limit of UPI Lite has been increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. The limit of transactions has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000.
