Panchkula: Nayab Singh Saini, who led the BJP to a thumping victory for the third time in Haryana assembly elections, will be sworn in as the chief minister on October 15, preparations for which have begun at the Parade Ground in Panchkula.
The governor has constituted a 10-member committee led by the Panchkula deputy commissioner to oversee the arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony on October 15, an official order stated.
Meanwhile, BJP’s Haryana poll in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan met the party’s organisation minister BL Santosh on Friday to discuss the new Haryana Cabinet and the ministers to be sworn in.
There is a possibility of discussions regarding the structure of the cabinet and the selection of new faces to be included in the new cabinet while. Pradhan had already met Saini on Thursday to discuss the new state government. A final decision on the new cabinet is likely to be taken on Friday after the meeting.
During the elections, the BJP signalled that Nayab Singh Saini, who succeeded Manohar Lal Khattar as chief minister in March and belongs to the Other Backward Classes, would be its pick for the top post if victorious.
The party secured its best-ever result, winning 48 seats—11 more than Congress. Meanwhile, the JJP and AAP were wiped out, and the INLD managed to win only two seats.
