New Delhi: It is a hard-fought victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party in Haryana. The party has pulled off a near impossible win in the Haryana assembly elections. Beating an anti-incumbency of 10 years wasn’t easy. And it wasn’t scripted overnight. It has taken years of sustained and relentless effort by the partymen to consolidate the public support base and solidify it. And most of it was done at the grassroots level. Leading from the front was Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Following BJP’s win in the polls, Modi Archive put up a post on X, reading: “Narendra Modi has dedicated his entire life into building a vast support base from the ground up. The result of his lifelong dedication is reflected in the historic mandates he and BJP receive, election after election.” (An archival picture from Haryana) #HaryanaElectionResult — the post added. An old picture of PM Modi seated with other partymen was also posted. The photo spoke long volumes about the PM’s down-to-earth approach.

Modi’s deep, special connection with Haryana
PM Modi has a profound affection and a special connection with Haryana. Modi stayed in Panchkula for many years when he was in-charge of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh affairs from 1992-1999. It was during this time that he mingled with people from all walks of life and put his ear to the ground. During the seven years from 1992 to 1999, he travelled across Haryana while taking care of the party’s activities in the state. In the course of his visits, he understood the ills ailing the state and worked towards their redressal. This commitment has gone a long way in yielding results now.
His speeches resonated with public
His recent rallies and public outreach events have also played a key role in catapulting the BJP in Haryana to victory.
He addressed four rallies in Haryana ahead of the elections. During these addresses, he exhorted the people to vote for the BJP candidates.
His speeches at each of the election rallies captured the pulse of the Haryana populace. At an address in Palwal, he said, “Haryana has taught us to work and do it hard. Congress’ formula is – neither work nor let others work. Congress’ politics is limited only to false promises, whereas BJP’s politics is based on hard work and results.”
Calling it the pious land of “Daanveer Karna”, in Karnal PM Modi said that whenever he visits Haryana, he feels he has come home, among his own folk. PM Modi also said he was sitting “next-door”, and in order for him to help serve the people better, without any barriers, it was essential for a BJP government to be formed in the state. These speeches apparently resonated with the people of Haryana.
