New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged people to change their profile pictures on social media to that of “Tiranga” or tricolour – the national flag. “Har Ghar Tiranga” a government initiative to fill the citizens with pride ahead of Independence Day is its third year.
PM Modi also urged the citizens to make this a memorable mass movement. The PM changed his profile picture to tricolour. He also shared a website where people can share their selfies with the flag after hoisting it at their homes.

In a post on “X” the PM wrote, “As this year’s Independence Day approaches, let’s again make #HarGharTiranga a memorable mass movement. I am changing my profile picture and I urge you all to join me in celebrating our Tricolour by doing the same. And yes, do share your selfies on .”

The third edition of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign will be celebrated from August 9 to 15 to mark the 78th Independence Day, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said on Thursday.
Special ‘Tiranga Bike Rally’
“The initiative aims to instil spirit of patriotism and national pride among citizens by encouraging every Indian to hoist the national flag,” he said to reporters.
A highlight of the campaign is a special ‘Tiranga Bike Rally’ featuring members of Parliament. It will take place in Delhi on August 13.
