New Delhi: Amid the alleged scuffle between the MPs at the Parliament premises on Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly pushing Pratap Sarangi at the Parliament . The video of the incident has gone viral.
Sarangi, a 69-year-old BJP MP from Odisha’s Balasore constituency suffered injuries durig the scuffle. Dubey then accused Gandhi of pushing the senior leader. “Are you not ashamed Rahul, you are resorting to rowdy behaviour (‘gundagardi’). You pushed an old man,” a Dubey charged Rahul Gandhi.

However, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha countered his allegation saying, “He pushed me. The video then shows Rahul Gandhi telling the BJP MPs that it was Sarangi who pushed him.
After the incident, Sarangi and another MP, Mukesh Rajput from Uttar Pradesh, where shifted to Ram Manohar Lohiya (RML) Hospital for treatment. “Sarangi was bleeding profusely. He had a deep cut on his forehead and it had to be stitched. His blood pressure and anxiety level were high when he was brought in,” news agency PTI quoted a doctor as saying.

He added, “Rajput also had a head injury immediately after which he lost consciousness. However, the MP was in his senses when he was brought to the hospital. His blood pressure levels had also shot up.”
We do not get affected by jostling: Rahul Gandhi
Speaking to the media later Rahul Gandhi said that while he was trying to go inside the Parliament, he was stopped by BJP MPs. “I was trying to go inside through the Parliament entrance, but BJP MPs were trying to stop me, push me and threaten me. So this happened..Yes, this has happened (Mallikarjun Kharge being pushed). But we do not get affected by jostling. But this is the entrance and we have the right to go in,” he added.
