New Delhi: The rail traffic has been affected due to a gas leak from goods train LPG tanker near Kanij station of Western Railway in Kheda, Gujarat. On September 7, on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara railway section of Western Railway, the rail traffic on the upper line was disrupted due to the gas leakage.
Nadiad Fire Brigade rushed to the site. The goods train was stopped and cooling operations on the LPG tanker was undertaken.
Railway PRO Pradeep Sharma was quoted as saying by ANI, “There is an incident of gas leakage from HPCL wagon. Downline is operational and trains coming from Vadodara to Ahmedabad are operational. Work is underway.”
Later, the rail traffic was restored after being declared fit by the technical team. Due to this leakage, some trains have been regulated.
