New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday made some big-ticket announcements for Bihar where Assembly polls are due later this year.
During her budget speech Sitharaman said the Centre will facilitate greenfield airports in Bihar to meet future needs of the state. In another major announcement for the state, Sitharman said that a Makhana Board will be established to improve production and processing of fox nut in the state.
The Budget 2025 also announced a financial support for the western Kosi Canal, benefiting over 50,000 hectare in Mithilanchal region of the state.
In a big boost to encourage entrepreneurship and management in Bihar, Centre will establish national institute of food technology in the state.
