New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that the INDIA bloc will work to benefit Soyabean and Cotton farmers if it come to power in Maharashtra. The state is going on a one-phase poll on November 20, while results will be announced on November 23.
Sharing a video message on X, after his visit to Chili was cancelled due to technical problems with the aircraft he was supposed to take, Rahul Gandhi said, “I apologise to all of you. I had to come to Chikhli today. Was to meet soybean farmers there and address a public meeting, but could not come due to a technical fault in the plane. I know that farmers in Maharashtra are facing a lot of difficulties. The BJP government does not give the right price to soybean and cotton farmers. I want to tell you that the INDIA bloc will take care of you and will try to solve your problems immediately.”

MVA released manifesto on Sunday for Maharashtra polls
The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), of which the Congress is part of, was released in manifesto for Maharashtra polls last Sunday. The alliance has promised a waiver up to Rs3 lakh and Rs 50,000 incentive for regular loan repayment for farmers in the state. It also promised to conduct a review to improve the existing schemes and provide support to widows and children of families affected by the death of farmers.
BJP biggest enemy of farmers: Kharge
Last month, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of being the “biggest enemy” of the farmers in Maharashtra and observed that the removal of ‘double engine’ government is the only way to save farmers from the Mahayuti Government.
