Prayagraj: With crores of devotees continuing to visit the Sangam in Prayagraj to take the holy dip, the authorities issued news bathing and traffic guidelines. As per authorities more than 50 crore people already took the holy dip, which was far more than expected earlier.
The Maha Kumbh Mela which started on January 13 will continue till February 26, with crore of more devotees expected to visit Prayagraj in coming days. A number of special trains have also been added in the last few days for the convenience of the devotees.
What new guidelines say
As per instructions issued by the authorities, devotees reaching the Sangam from the Parade Mela area will be able to take a bath at the Sangam and other ghats. Similarly, devotees coming towards the Jhunsi area will be able to take the holy dip in the same area. The same applies to the devotees coming from other areas.
Also, according to the release, vehicles that have been issued for devotees by authorities will only be permitted in the Maha Kumbh mela area. Other vehicles will be required to be parked in designated areas. However, ambulances and other medical facilities will be able to enter part from those carrying food and other important items. In the release, authorities have also urged devotees to cooperate with the administration to prevent any kind untoward incident.
Special train for Prayagraj
Meanwhile, the Northern Railways is running Vande Bharat Special train from February 15 to February 17 17 between New Delhi and Varanasi (via Prayagraj) for devotees looking to visit Maha Kumbh Mela.
The depart will depart from New Delhi at 5.30 in the morning and will reach Prayagraj at 12 noon. A press statement issued by the Northern Railways said. “In return direction, the train number 02251 will depart from Varanasi at 15:15 hours (Prayagraj at 17.20 hours) to reach New Delhi at 23.50 hours the same day,” said Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer, Northern Railways.
