New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has asked people not to rely too much on the government in case of subsidy. “In my opinion, it doesn’t matter which party is in power, you need to keep the government out of this. The government is like a ‘Vishkanya’ (poisonous maiden), whoever is associated with is bound to doom. You (people) don’t get involved in this. Just take whatever subsidy you are eligible for, but there is no certainty when you will get it,” said Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways.
“Once my son told me that a subsidy of Rs 450 crore has been approved by the government. And he has paid the taxes. He then asked me when the subsidy would be released. I told him that you should pray to God because there is no guarantee whatsoever.” When will it be released? I can’t say that,” the minister further added.
The minister said that the Ladli Bahna Yojana has been launched and that subsidy needs to be given for that as well, he said.
