After the launch of the iPhone 16 series, everyone is eyeing the arrival of the iPhone SE 4, the mid-range option by Apple. However, to compete with the upcoming affordable iPhone, Google is planning to launch the Pixel 9a earlier than expected. While there are still months to the arrival of the Google Pixel 9a, leaks have suggested the potential specifications, upgrades and price leaks.
As per a report by Android Headlines, the Pixel 9a is expected to have a similar screen size as the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, however, it could be 2mm taller and 1mm wide. This means the Pixel 9a may have a 6.3-inch display against the 6.1-inch of the predecessor Pixel 8a. Here is what else to expect from the next mid-range Google phone, the Pixel 9a.
Google Pixel 9a: What To Expect
Google Pixel 9a is expected to be 2 grams lighter (186g) than its previous version Pixel 8a. Moreover, it is tipped to get an upgrade in terms of IP rating as the leaks suggest it to have IP68 same as its Pixel 9 series, however, it will be a great upgrade over the Pixel 8a’s IP67.
Talking about the performance, the Pixel 9a is also expected to get the latest Tensor G4 chipset which is offered by the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. It may get 8GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage options.
Another crucial upgrade that Pixel 9a is tipped to get is the battery size. Based on the report, the Pixel 9a may pack a 5000mAh battery against the 4492mAh of the Pixel 8a. However, the charging is expected to remain at 18W wired and 7.5W wireless which seems a big letdown in the era of fast-charging smartphones even under a Rs 25,000 budget.
For photography, it may feature a dual-camera setup at the back headlined by a 48MP wide with 13MP ultrawide and 13MP selfie camera.
Google Pixel 9a Price Leak
Big upgrades or not, the Pixel 9a is tipped to remain at the same launch price as the Pixel 8a at $499 which is around Rs 41,999. This will be the same price range as Apple’s iPhone SE 4.
Which one will make the best option in the mid-range smartphone segment? We will have to wait for the official launches of these two mid-range champs.
