Belagavi: In a tragic incident, former Goa MLA Lavoo Mamledar (69) died moments after he had an altercation with an auto rikshaw driver in Belagavi district of Karnataka over a minor matter. As per the police, an argument broke between the two, after which those present on the spot stooped them.
However, soon after the MLA reached near a lodge and collapsed near a lodge where he died. The MLA was allegedly fatally attacked by the autorickshaw driver at the time of their altercation. The argument between the two had reportedly started after the former MlAs car was hit by the autorickshaw while it was passing through Khadebazar area of the district.

The argument between Ex-MLA and accused took place near lodge
Angered by this, Mamledar started shouting at the autoriskshaw driver, who was coming from behind. The argument soon started in front of the lodge. The entire incident was caputed on the CCTV camera near the lodge. The former MLA was immediately taken to a hospital after he collapsed. However, the hospital declared him dead after the the treatment.
Ex-MLA declared dead during treatment in hospital
The body of MLA was found stabbed to death in the BIMS Hospital morgue. While his family members have been informed, The accused in the case has also bee taken in the police custody. The incident took place close to Belgaum Market Police Station. Apart from interrogating the accused, the police have also collected CCTV footage further for further probe in the entire incident.
Earlier in 2019, the MLA had file a police complaint, claiming that he was hit by a car. He had also accused accused former PWD minister Sudin Dhavalikar of being behind the incident. Taccording to Mamledar, he had gone for a morning walk when a car allegedly hit him.
