In anticipation of the upcoming G20 summit scheduled for September 9-10, India’s central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has appointed a roster of ministers to cordially receive foreign dignitaries arriving in New Delhi.
Union Ministers Extend Warm Welcome to G20 Leaders in India
During a meeting held on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi encouraged ministers to fully utilize the G-20 India mobile app, particularly its translation and other features, to facilitate effective communication with foreign leaders.
The G20 summit is expected to host the heads of state from over 30 countries, senior representatives from the European Union, invitee nations, and leaders of 14 international organizations.
Here’s a glimpse of which ministers will extend a warm welcome to specific G20 leaders at New Delhi’s airport
US President Joe Biden: Arriving at 6.55 pm on Friday, he will be greeted by Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh.
British PM Rishi Sunak: Expected at 1.40 pm, he will be welcomed by Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida: Landing at 2.15 pm, he will be received by Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina: Arriving at 12.30 pm on Friday, she will be greeted by Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh.
Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni: Already in Delhi, she was welcomed by Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shobha Karandlaje.
Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang: Expected at 7.45 pm on Friday, he will also be welcomed by Minister VK Singh.
Australian PM Anthony Albanese: Arriving at 6.15 pm on Friday, he will be received by Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
French President Emmanuel Macron: Touching down at 12.35 pm on Saturday, he will be greeted by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz: Landing at 8 am on Saturday, he will be welcomed by Minister of State Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma.
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan: Arriving at 8 pm on Friday, he will be received by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai.
