In preparation for the G20 Summit scheduled for September 9-10 in Delhi, stringent security arrangements have been put in place. Delhi Police has declared a holiday in the national capital from September 8 to 10 as part of these measures. To enhance security, Delhi Police has written to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) requesting the closure of specific Metro station gates during the summit. While some stations will be affected, Metro services will continue without disruption.
Delhi Metro Station Gate Closures for G20 Security
Delhi Police’s request to close certain Metro station gates aims to bolster security during the G20 Summit. The list of affected stations includes Moti Bagh, Bikaji Cama Place, Munirka, RK Puram, IIT, Sadar Bazar Cantonment, and the Supreme Court station, which is closest to the summit venue, Pragati Maidan. Additionally, Dhaula Kuan, Khan Market, Janpath, Supreme Court, and Bikaji Cama Place have been identified as sensitive stations. A total of 69 gates across 39 Metro stations will remain closed on September 8-9.
