Jammu: In a heartwarming incident from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, where a farmer named Irshad Hussain Nayak showed his deep admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Irshad, impressed by the Prime Minister’s personality, had long harboured the dream of meeting him. Since 2013, Irshad had been trying to meet PM Modi, hoping to offer him a special gift.
Kashmiri farmer’s unique gift
Irshad wanted to gift something unique and meaningful to the Prime Minister. After thinking for a long time, he decided on a traditional Kashmiri garment called a “pheran”. However, he faced a small challenge – he did not know the Prime Minister’s measurements.
However, Irshad realised that his father was of a similar height to PM Modi, so he used his father’s measurements to have the pheran made especially for the Prime Minister.
With great excitement, Irshad travelled from Anantnag to Delhi to personally deliver the gift to PM Modi. However, due to tight security at the Prime Minister’s residence, he was unable to meet him.
Determined to give the gift, Irshad decided to send it through courier, including his name and contact details with the package.
Unexpected call from PMO
Days later, Irshad was working in his field when he received an unexpected call from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The PMO informed him that during a rally in Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore the pheran gifted by Irshad.
Overjoyed by this news, Irshad ran with happiness, feeling incredibly proud to see the Prime Minister wearing the traditional garment he had lovingly sent.
This moment brought immense joy to Irshad, fulfilling his long-held dream of connecting with the Prime Minister in a special way, despite not meeting him in person.
