New Delhi: BJP national president JP Nadda on Friday launched the first part of BJP’s “Sankalp Patra” for Delhi Assembly elections. While addressing a press conference, Nadda said that the promises outlined in the document aim to lay the foundation for a developed and progressive Delhi.
He said, “The points I present today will pave the way for a better Delhi. We are discussing how to take Delhi forward.” He further added that this manifesto reflects the BJP’s commitment to development, transparency and efficient governance.
Key highlights of BJP’s manifesto
JP Nadda outlined several important promises included in the manifesto, targeting various sections of society. It includes policies and initiatives that aim to uplift women, youth, laborers, professionals, the middle class and residents of slum areas. Feedback was collected from these groups to ensure the promises address their needs.
JP Nadda also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “Modi has changed the political culture of the country by introducing the mantra of ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ (resolution to accomplishment). BJP’s track record shows that we deliver on our promises and even go beyond them. A guarantee from Modi is a guarantee that will be fulfilled.”
Promises for women’s welfare
The manifesto proposes significant benefits for women under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. The scheme promises:
- A monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women.
- The scheme will be passed in the very first cabinet meeting if BJP forms the government.
Additionally, there are plans to provide subsidies and relief for women managing household expenses:
- Subsidy of Rs 500 per LPG cylinder for poor women.
- One free LPG cylinder each on Holi and Diwali.
Further support is promised for pregnant women, with Rs 21,000 to be provided to every pregnant woman to support her health and nutritional needs.
Corruption-free governance
The BJP president assured that the party will focus on making Delhi corruption-free while ensuring the efficient delivery of welfare schemes to the last mile. Nadda promised continuity for existing schemes and services, stating that ongoing initiatives will not be discontinued.
Sankalp Patra to be released in three parts
BJP’s manifesto for Delhi will be released in three parts. Part I of the Sankalp Patra focuses on women’s welfare, transparency in governance and schemes for various communities. The other two parts are expected to address other critical issues and development plans.
Nadda reiterated BJP’s commitment to its promises, saying, “Our track record shows that we fulfill what we say, and even deliver what we haven’t explicitly promised.”
