Hyderabad: A former sub-registrar in Quthubullapur, B Jyoti, was arrested by the Jeedimetla police on Tuesday for reportedly registering a plot of land in the name of an individual based on forged documents.
The officer, who is currently working as an assistant registrar in the Chits and Finance registrar office in Nampally, was arrested and sent to judicial custody. A case was registered against her in August.
Sale deed with forged documents:
A person named Lendala Suresh filed a complaint against her after forged documents were submitted in his name by Lendala Ravi Shanker, claiming to be his heir.
Suresh bought the plot but was unable to start the construction process as he fell short of funds. He was unable to visit the 200 sq-yard plot due to some health issues. But in July last year, he found that a compound and a tin shed were built on his land.
Ravi Shanker submitted forged documents claiming that Suresh was dead and then approved the sale of the land to an individual named Nagireddy Komala Kumari.
“The officer registered the sale deed without a proper verification of the forged documents produced by Ravi Shanker and Nagireddy Komala Kumari,” Suresh said.
