New Delhi: A five-year-old boy died under mysterious circumstances at a madrasa in northeast Delhi Dayalpur on Friday night.
According to the police, blisters were found on the boy’s neck, abdomen, and groin area.
250 boys at madrasa
The deceased had been studying at the madrasa along with around 250 other boys, approximately 150 of whom are from outside Delhi, mainly from Uttar Pradesh.
At 6.30pm on Friday, the boy’s mother was informed that her son was unwell. She took him to a private hospital in Brijpuri, where doctors declared him dead. She then returned to the madrasa with her son’s body, where a large crowd gathered. They placed the body on the road, demanding action against the madrasa administration.
Police promise thorough investigation into the matter
Later, the police arrived at the scene and moved the body to the mortuary at GTB Hospital. They assured a thorough investigation into the matter, after which the crowd dispersed.
“Preliminary examination of the body revealed a large number of eruptions, blisters on the neck, abdomen, and groin area,” the police said in a statement on Saturday.
Further details will be disclosed after the post-mortem, another officer stated, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
