New Delhi: The central government has decided to probe the circumstances in which the 26-year-old Ernst and Young employee Anna Sebastian Perayil died. The young Chartered Accountant’s mother claimed she died due to work pressure just months after joining the company.
Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje posted on X saying the Union Labour Ministry has officially taken up the complaint. She informed that a thorough investigation into the allegations of an unsafe and exploitative work environment is underway.

The young Chartered Accountant’s death has caused outrage across the country over work ethics debate at workplace. Meanwhile, Anna’s mother Anita has written a letter to EY India Chairman Rajiv Memani
and complained about the circumstances in which her young daughter died.
The death of the 26-year-old has raised concerns about workplace practices at the multinational firm. Anna’s mother, Anita Augustine blames ‘work stress’ at EY for the tragic death. Anita has written an email addressed to EY’s India chief Rajiv Memani expressing her distress over the circumstances that led to her daughter’s death.
Anna said she was writing the letter as a greiving mother and her soul is sharreted as she writes this. Anna further said that she believes that her story should be shared in the hope that other families should not go through the same pain they are feeling.
