Diwali Celebrations at Alameda County Fairgrounds
Organised by The Association of Indo-Americans (AIA), a non-profit dedicated to exploring the diverse heritage of Indian Americans in the US, the Dussera Diwali Dhamaka celebrates and embraces Indian heritage in a foreign land like no other.
The Dussera Diwali Dhamaka at Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton attracts many tourists. On Saturday, October 19, the festival showcased a stunning 30-foot Raavan Dehan, spectacular fireworks, and a maha mangal aarti. Attendees can immerse themselves in disco dandiya, a lively food festival, cultural performances, Ram Leela, shopping, a mithai festival, carnival rides, rangoli competitions, and games like chess, carroms, and tambola. The event will also feature a free health fair, offering a rich blend of cultural celebration and community engagement.
Diwali Festivities at Bankhead Plaza
Join the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center and the Hindu Cultural Community Center as they celebrate the Diwali “Festival of Lights” at Bankhead Plaza on November 3, 2024. This vibrant cultural event features traditional Bollywood and classical Indian dances, captivating music performances, and storytelling that explores the history and significance of Diwali. Attendees will enjoy engaging interactions with performers and attendees and a variety of booths showcasing Bollywood, apparel, jewellery, diya decorations, rangoli art, and all things Indian. Kid-friendly activities and a selection of local restaurants offering delicious food add to the festive atmosphere.
The Bankhead Theater, the largest venue in the Tri-Valley with 507 seats, is an ideal setting for this celebration. It is renowned for its rotating art exhibits and exceptional musical, dance, and live-stage performances throughout the year. Shiva Vishnu Temple, Livermore
The Shiva Vishnu Temple in Livermore, celebrates Diwali, the Festival of Lights, with celebrations including pujas, oil lamp lighting, fireworks, cultural programs, prasadam, and community engagement. The temple also conducts important Hindu ceremonies such as marriages, baby showers, and thread ceremonies, adhering to traditional Hindu customs.
Established in 1977, the Hindu Community and Cultural Center (HCCC) aims to provide religious services to the Hindu community. Over the past 35 years, it has evolved into a prominent place of worship, offering a wide range of community services. The HCCC is involved in various humanitarian activities for youth, young adults, and the elderly, fostering a sense of community and tradition. The temple’s Diwali celebrations bring together the community to celebrate the victory of light over darkness.
