New Delhi: Former Maharashtra Health Minister Tanaji Sawant’s son has reportedly gone missing from Pune. Rishiraj Sawant went missing from Pune airport.
Meanwhile, as soon as the information was received, Pune police reached the airport and started an investigation. Reports say that the driver dropped him off at the airport in the afternoon, after which Rishiraj Sawant went missing from that place. Speculations are rife that he was kidnapped.
After Rishiraj was dropped off at the airport by his driver, he has remained untraced. The police are examining CCTV footage from the area and deploying special teams to locate the suspects. They are exploring the possibility of abduction and are working to make contact with the missing individual.
Initially, the police had claimed that Rishiraj had gone to Bangkok, which is why his phone was switched off but later they started a manhunt for him. Former Health Minister Tanaji Sawant is seeking information from the police in the case and has asked the police to monitor the situation.
According to some reports, eyewitnesses say that a group of unidentified persons arrived in a Swift car around 5 pm in the Narhe area, under the jurisdiction of the Singhgad Police Station. They reportedly forced Sawant’s son into the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
