Chennai: S Vijayadharani, a three-time legislator who joined the BJP from the Congress six months ago, publicly expressed her discontent over not being offered a post in the party. Speaking at a public meeting in Chennai, Vijayadharani stated that she had expected a position to take the party forward but was left disappointed.

“I have been elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly three times and have left everything to join BJP. I did not come to BJP without expectations. I have come with expectations. A position is needed to take the party to the next stage,” Vijayatharani said.
Her comments seemed to put the party leaders, including Annamalai, in an embarrassment were present at the public meeting when she remarked. Vijayadharani’s outburst comes after she was denied a post in the party despite her contributions as a prominent leader in the Congress party. She had served as the legislative whip of the Congress party and participated in various television debates on behalf of the party.

According to party insiders, Vijayadharani expected that she would be given the chance to contest in the Kanyakumari constituency in the last parliamentary elections. But it didn’t happen.
