Chennai: Tamil Nadu Health Minister M Subramanian has vowed to take action against YouTuber Irfan for violating medical laws, despite his apology. Tamil Nadu- based You Tuber and Food vlogger Mohammed Irfan sparked a controversy by announcing the sex of his unborn child earlier and recently sparked a controversy again by posting a video himself cutting the umbilical cord inside a opearation theatre in Chennai on social media.

This incident occurred in July and drew severe criticism from public and medical community. Joint Director of Medical Department Ilangovan filed a complaint against Irfan and Doctor Nivedita, who sanctioned the event at a private hospital.

Minister Subramanian emphasized that the government won’t tolerate wrongdoing, regardless of political connections. “DMK never shields wrongdoers,” he stated. The Medical Council has recommended banning Doctor Nivedita from practicing medicine.

When questioned about Irfan’s apology, Minister Subramanian said, “Even if Irfan apologizes, he cannot be let off. A complaint has been filed, and action will be taken.” Irfan’s actions are considered medical negligence, which is a serious offense in India.
