Guwahati: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat urged the organization volunteers to enhance friendship with different groups of society, irrespective of caste, culture, and religion. He also noted that ‘swayamsevaks’ work as catalysts for society.
Addressing an event in Guwahati on Sunday, he added that Hindus and Hindus should share the same temples, crematoriums, and water for various uses through cooperation and mutual respect. Releasing a statement, the RSS said, “He urged the Swayamsevaks to enhance the friendship among different sections in the society irrespective of their castes, creeds and regions or languages they possess.”
‘Communal harmony will take India towards positive direction’
The RSS chief further pointed out that the communal harmony among different groups in the society will help in taking the country in a positive direction, which will further help in great outcomes. He added that society as a whole too must take the responsibility to conserve water, plant saplings and avoid plastic utensils to protect the environment.
“Every Indian should pursue food items, housing, travels, and even languages matching their self-expression. Everyone should converse in mother tongues instead of using foreign languages in their day-to-day activities,” he added further.
Citizens must follow traditional social norms: Mohan Bhagwat
Addressing the gathering further, Bhagwat also pointed out that citizens of India must follow the traditional social norms even as all kinds of similar rules may not be considered laws as far as the legal point is concerned. Bhagwat is currently in visit to Guwahati on a six-day visit. During this visit, he will interact with several RSS members and discuss initiatives to strengthen the organisation further. The ongoing trip is part of Bhagwat’s tour of different regions across the country, which is coinciding with the 100th year of the RSS.
