New Delhi: World’s richest person and billionaire is the news, again, this time for buying a $35 million (Rs 294 crore) mansion and another six-bedroom property in Texas to house his 11 children and their mothers under the same roof. The SpaceX CEO is planning to accommodate his unconventional family properties spread over 14,400 square feet in the city of Austin.
The grand mansion, featuring a Tuscan-inspired design, is located just 10 minutes from Elon Musk’s Texas home, according to the report. Musk reportedly hopes this close arrangement will allow his children to spend more time together and help him coordinate his schedule with them, the New York Times reported.
Keeping the privacy of his family in mind, Musk, 53, made the property sellers sign a bunch of non-disclosure agreements, besides offering some homeowners 20-70 per cent more than the actual market value of the properties, the report claimed.
The billionaire wants his children and two of their three mothers to live in these adjacent properties to “let his younger children be a part of one another’s lives.”
Elon Musk’s children and their mothers
Musk has had 12 children since 2002 but his first kid with ex-wife Justine Musk unfortunately died from a sudden infant syndrome at just 10 weeks old. In 2008, Musk and his then-wife Justine had five children through IVF before their divorce—twins Griffin and Vivian, followed by triplets Saxon, Damian, and Kai.
Musk then had a high-profile relationship with British actress Talulah Riley, whom he married and divorced twice, though they did not have children.
Between 2020 and 2022, Musk welcomed three children with musician Grimes (Claire Boucher). They named them “X” (short for X Æ A-12), “Y” (Exa Dark Sideræl), and Techno Mechanicus, who goes by “Tau”. Musk and Grimes are currently in a legal dispute over their custody.
In 2021, Musk quietly welcomed twins with Shivon Zillis, an executive at his brain technology start-up, Neuralink, and confirmed this year that they have a third child.
