Nanded: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a strong critique of the Congress and accused the party of trying to fragment the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) for political benefit. Speaking at a rally in Maharashtra’s Nanded, the prime minister said that Congress is unable to accept an OBC leader has been serving as Prime Minister for a decade and working to uplift all segments of society. ‘Congress cannot bear that there is an OBC Prime Minister who is inclusive in his approach,” Modi said.
He accused Congress of trying to weaken the collective OBC identity by encouraging divisions within the community. “Congress wants to erase the collective identity of the OBCs and break them into smaller caste groups, aiming to weaken their influence. You must be vigilant against Congress’ divisive tactics and remain aware of its hidden agenda aimed at fragmenting the country. ‘Hum ek hai toh safe hain,’” Modi said.
PM Modi’s unity call
With the Maharashtra Assembly polls approaching, the Prime Minister repeated his message, saying, “Hum ek hain toh safe hain” (We are safe if we are united). Prime Minister Narendra Modi said his slogan “Ek hai, toh safe hai” (If we are united, we are safe) for the second time in Maharashtra. He first introduced it on Friday during a rally in Dhule. Over there, he accused Congress and its allies of creating caste divisions and urged people to remain united.
PM slams INDIA bloc
At the Dhule event, PM Modi also criticised the INDIA bloc for presenting blank books as the Constitution to incite Dalits and Adivasis. He said that Congress and its allies should avoid promoting a “Pakistan agenda” or adopting the language of separatists and warnied that such tactics would fail as long as he enjoys public support. Maharashtra’s assembly elections are scheduled for November 20 and the vote count set for November 23.
