- 2 cups refined flour (maida)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)
- 1/4 teaspoon kalonji (black cumin seeds)
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder (optional)
- 1/4 cup ghee or oil
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water

- Mix refined flour (maida), salt, baking powder, baking soda, ajwain, kalonji, garam masala and other ingredients of your choice.
- In this mixture, add ghee or oil and mix until crumbly. Now, add in small intervals, add lukewarm water to form a dough.
- Knead this dough for 5-7 minutes.
- Once done, cover this dough with a small piece of cotton cloth and keep it rest for 30 minutes.
