New Delhi: The ruling BJP has surpassed the halfway mark of 45 seats in the Haryana Assembly elections, currently leading in 48 constituencies, while the Congress is ahead in 33, as per the latest trends on the Election Commission website.
The two parties have been locked in a fluctuating contest since vote counting began at 8 am. Early TV trends showed the Congress leading, but the BJP quickly gained ground. As of 10:20 am, EC data indicated the BJP leading in 46 seats and the Congress in 36. The majority mark for the 90-member assembly stands at 46.
