Nagpur: A Dubai-bound Biman Bangladesh flight made an emergency landing at the Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur on Thursday. The flight took off from Dhaka and was en route to Dubai when it suffered a technical glitch, prompting it to make an emergency landing in Nagpur.
The flight was carrying 396 passengers and 12 crew members on board made an emergency landing at Nagpur airport in Maharashtra, officials said.
The flight was diverted and made the emergency landing at around midnight on Wednesday due to technical issues, a senior official of the Nagpur airport said.
The passengers will be flown by another flight of the company later in the day, he said All passengers are reported to be safe and the landing was carried out smoothly.
Man detained over Bomb remark at Kochi airport
A passenger who jokingly claimed his luggage contained a “bomb” when questioned about its weight by an airport security official has been booked, police said on Thursday.
Kochi International Airport security officials handed over Rasheed, a native of Kozhikode, to Nedumbassery police following the incident, which occurred around 11:30 pm on Wednesday.
After completing the boarding procedures for his flight from Kochi to Kuala Lumpur, Rasheed was asked about the weight of his luggage by a security officer. In response, he remarked that it was a bomb, prompting immediate action from officials, who alerted the police.
A case was registered against him, and he was later released, police added.
