New Delhi: Maharashtra Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar has slammed the Indian government regarding the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22 which claimed the lives of 26 innocent people. He said that the government should take responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack.
Wadettiwar added, “They (the government) are saying that terrorists killed people after asking them (about their religion). Do terrorists have time for all this? Some people say that this did not happen. Terrorists have no caste or religion. Catch those who are responsible and take action. This is the sentiment of the country.”

Wadettiwar has directly accused the government and said that the killing of the 26 civilians in Kashmir is a failure of the government. He said, “Where was the government’s security, why was security not deployed at tourist spots?” The statements come as the tension between India and Pakistan has escalated following the Pahalgam terror attack. The Indian government has taken a host of steps in it retaliation against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty which will reportedly affect our neighbours as the economy of the country is dependent of agriculture and water scarcity will seriously hamper it.
Also, India has closed the integrated check point at the Attari border. Pakistan, in reply, has suspended the Simla Agreement along with all trade activities, and closed its airspace for Indian airlines among other steps. Also, it warned India that any attempt to divert Indus River waters destined for Pakistan would be considered an “act of war”.
