New Delhi: The political Mahabharata over bulldozers has started heating up in Uttar Pradesh.
During a recent meeting, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, “After 2027 UP polls, all bulldozers will turn towards Gorakhpur (the home district of UP CM Yogi Adityanath).”
Reacting sharply to Yadav’s barb, CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that not everyone can handle a bulldozer, it takes brains and courage.
Addressing a gathering in Lucknow where he distributed government job appointment letters, the Chief Minister said, “Har kisi ke haath bulldozer nahi chala sakte (Not everyone’s hand can fit a bulldozer). Iske liye dil aur dimaag dono chahiye (for this, one needs both brains and courage). Bulldozer jaise shamta aur pratigya jismein ho wahi bulldozer chala sakta hai (One who has capability and commitment like that of a bulldozer can only handle it).” CM Yogi underlined that those who grovel in front of rioters will not be able to stand before bulldozers and will be crushed.
Taking a dig at Yadav, he said, “Now ‘Tipu’ is also trying to become a ‘Sultan’.” He added that Yadav’s ambition of coming back to power in Uttar Pradesh is a daydream. He alleged that former Chief Minister and his uncle Shivpal Yadav engaged in extortion during his rule.
What did Akhilesh Yadav say?
On Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav had said that Samajwadi Party would wipe out the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in UP in 2027. “Once the Samajwadi Party returns to power in the state, all the bulldozers will turn towards Gorakhpur,” he said.
He pointed out that caste census for social welfare, reservation right, protection of PDA will be the main issues of Samajwadi Party’s agenda for the 2027 assembly elections. The 2027 Uttar Pradesh election results will have a huge influence on national politics, he said.
His reaction after Yogi’s reply
Reacting to CM Yogi Adityanath’s retort, Yadav said, “Bulldozer chalane me dimag nahi, steering lagta hai (Using a bulldozer needs a steering wheel, not brain).” He added that bulldozers were used by the UP government to satisfy its ego. The Supreme Court has bulldozed UP government’s bulldozer action.
The CM will surely come up with another retort to Yadav’s reaction soon.
