New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav raised concerns regarding the elections in Kundarki, alleging that democracy was violated and the voting process was manipulated.
During a press conference, Akhilesh accused the administration of discriminating against SP supporters and claimed that a large number of votes were cast by people who did not participate in the elections. He said, “90 percent of the people in Kundarki do not have ink on their hands. The Election Commission should check its documents. When this investigation is done, the truth will come out.”
Akhilesh Yadav criticises UP govt
Akhilesh said, “The question is that if SP voters did not go to the booth, then who cast their vote?” He also claimed that two types of slips were used in the voting process and alleged that information about the irregularities was reaching the Election Commission through social media. He added, “Booth agents were removed. The police did not allow any SP agent to stay at the booth.”
He said, “SP supporters were stopped on a large scale,” and he described the situation as “a new age electronic booth capturing.” He emphasized that the true victory in democracy is of the people, not the system. He said, “People were deprived of voting. Votes were cast by fake voters. The government has staged a drama on the elections. They are pretending to celebrate. These are hollow people.”
Akhilesh further criticised the removal of certain officers, especially those from the PDA caste, claiming that if they had not been removed, the election results might have been different. He said, “If the PDA officers and employees had not been changed, the election results would have been different.”
He also compared the government’s actions to those of Hitler, claiming, “On the day of the elections, guns were pointed at unarmed people. Just like Hitler had created troopers, the government had deployed police in private uniforms.”
What Akhilesh Yadav said on Sambhal violence
On Sambhal incident, Akhilesh said, “A team was sent to vitiate the atmosphere. All this was done so that our message does not reach you. Why a second survey of the mosque, why a survey without preparation? The government has done this deliberately.”
Haji Rizwan, SP’s candidate from Kundarki, also joined the press conference and voiced his concerns about the election results. He said, “90 percent of the people did not have ink on their hands. If the common voter had cast his vote, I would have won the election. There has been rigging by booth capturing.”
Rizwan, who lost the seat to BJP’s Ramveer Singh, expressed that the government had rigged the election to defeat him. Ramveer Singh won with 170,371 votes, while Rizwan received only 25,580 votes, a difference of 144,791 votes.
