New Delhi: Passengers of Delhi-Varanasi Indigo flight created a ruckus after the air conditioning system of the plane malfunctioned. Several flyers of the flight 6E 2235 complained of uneasiness due to suffocation. A video of the incident that took place on Thursday went viral on social media. The clip shows furious passengers fanning themselves using in-flight magazines and aircraft safety cards.
According to some reports, health of some female passengers deteriorated. One of the flyers asked who will take the responsibility if anything happens to anyone and said that the airline didn’t even care to call technician to fix the issue despite their repeated complaints before the take-off.

IndiGo apologies as flyers face discomfort
The airline apologised for the inconvenience caused to the passengers and said that cabin crew promptly extended assistance to the affected flyers. It further said that the flight’s air conditioning system was functioning properly but fluctuations in cabin temperature led to suffocation.
“We extend our apologies for the inconvenience experienced on flight 6E 2235 operating from Delhi to Varanasi on September 5, 2024,” read a statement from the airline. “The discomfort was attributed to fluctuations in cabin temperature, which were adjusted in response to passenger requests. Our cabin crew promptly extended assistance to the affected passenger to address the situation,” added the statement.
