In the ongoing Delhi rape case that has garnered significant attention, a suspended Delhi government official, accused of sexually assaulting a minor and causing her pregnancy, underwent a potency test on Tuesday. Typically conducted in sexual assault or rape cases, a potency test determines the accused’s capability for sexual engagement. The accused individuals, identified as Premoday Khakha and his wife Seema Rani, were presented in a Delhi court on August 22. Presently, Premoday Khakha is remanded in one-day judicial custody.
The defense lawyer representing Premoday Khakha and Seema Rani contends that the allegations against Khakha are unsubstantiated due to his previous vasectomy. The lawyer asserts that Premoday Khakha underwent a vasectomy two decades ago, negating the possibility of impregnating the minor girl. Meanwhile, the minor victim disclosed to the police that the accused official also subjected her to harassment within the church premises. The suspended government official reportedly held the position of deputy secretary within the same church.
The Incident Unfolded
The deputy director of the Delhi government’s Women and Child Development Department and his spouse were arrested on August 21 in relation to the alleged rape of a minor.
