New Delhi: With the festival season approaching across the country, the intelligence agencies have shared inputs with Delhi Police about the possible terror attack in Delhi. As per them, terrorists may carry out a major terrorist attack in the city.
According to sources, terrorists may target embassies of some countries and areas with high movements of the public. An alert has been issued to increase surveillance in the national capital and adjoining areas.
Delhi Police asked to increase patrolling
Instructions have also been issued to the Delhi Police to increase patrolling in market areas. They have also been asked to check all markets and offices. If sources are to be believed, there are conspiracies to spoil religious harmony in the country through social media. All senior officials have been asked to beef up security arrangements in places under their jurisdictions.
Mumbai Police conducted a mock drill
Recently, the Mumbai Police also conducted mock drills in the city keeping upcoming elections and festivals in mind. Mock drills were conducted in places like Barkat Ali Road, Bhaucha Dhakka, Iskcon temple in Juhu, as well as Zaveri Bazar to check their security preparedness in the city. According to officials, all temples in Mumbai have also been asked to remain vigilant and report to the police in case they come across any suspicious activities.
Releasing a preventive order, the Mumbai Police had also said that anti-social elements may also look for hideouts in residential areas. They also expressed fear related to breach of peace and disturbance of public tranquility with grave danger to human life and injury to private or public property on that account”.
