Delhi Police Busts Sextortion Racket Involving Blackmail of Government Official
This incident follows a previous sextortion racket busted in May, where a 22-year-old individual was arrested for extorting over Rs 7 lakh from multiple people by threatening to disclose their private chats and videos on social media. In one instance, a 27-year-old resident of Shahdara received an unsolicited WhatsApp video call in March from an unknown number, which displayed an obscene act performed by a woman. Subsequently, the victim received extortion calls from people claiming to be Delhi Police officers, demanding payment to prevent the dissemination of private images. As a result, the victim transferred a total of Rs 2 lakh to various bank accounts as instructed.
