New Delhi: A horrifying video has emerged from the Bair Sarai red light area in Delhi, showing two traffic police officers hanging on the bonnet of a car while the driver tries to drive off at high speed and throw them off. This incident occurred around 7.30 pm on Saturday.
The police have lodged a case in this matter and are on the manhunt for the accused. The car’s number has been identified.
The video, which has gone viral, shows the two cops, one an Assistant Sub-Inspector and the other a Head Constable, trying to stop the vehicle. However, the driver accelerates, as the police officers hang on the bonnet and are then thrown off. The driver flees the scene. The traffic police informed the local police about the incident, after which a case was registered.
In the footage circulating on social media, it can be seen that two cops stand in front of the car to prevent the man from fleeing. The man accelerates, as the cops cling to the bonnet. The man drives and throws off the cops, before escaping.
Similar incident in Shivamogga
On October 25, a man in Karnataka’s Shivamogga refused to adhere by a traffic constable’s request to stop and pull over and drove his vehicle for almost 100 metres, with the cop on top of the bonnet. It happened on a busy street under Kote police station limits. The constable escaped without serious injury, while the man was arrested later.
The cop had flagged down the car as the driver had allegedly breached traffic norms. There was an argument between the two after which the man tried to speed away with the cop on the bonnet.
