In anticipation of Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has issued a stern advisory to ban all forms of Chinese Manjha in Delhi NCR. The ban extends to its production, storage, sale, and usage. Despite a previous ban since 10th January 2017, the illegal use of Chinese Manjha continues to cause accidents and endanger animals and birds. The Minister emphasized that this type of Manjha, made from harmful chemicals instead of cotton fabric, poses severe threats to the environment and all living beings.
Continued Illegal Use of Chinese Manjha: A Cause of Concern for Delhi Authorities
Delhi Government has already enforced the ban across various departments, including Delhi Police, Revenue, MCD, Transport Department, DMRC, School Eco Clubs, and Colleges. Violators caught buying or selling Chinese Manjha face stringent consequences, including imprisonment for up to five years and a fine of one lakh rupees.
Enforcement of Ban: Delhi Government Takes Action Against Chinese Manjha Usage
Gopal Rai passionately appeals to the public to refrain from using Chinese Manjha and to report any instances of its sale or use. By collectively adhering to the ban, Delhi can ensure a safe and environmentally friendly Independence Day celebration, protecting both humans and wildlife from potential harm caused by this hazardous material.
